We want to be pioneers of the world’s edible Cutlery as an alternative to plastic disposables. Edible cutlery, made of edible flours and baked into shapes of cutlery, are functionally as strong as cutlery made with other materials and are the only form of cutlery which can be eaten up after use! If any user does not want to eat his/her cutlery, he/she can simply throw it away and it will degrade naturally in less than a week. They do not turn soggy even when kept dipped in hot liquids for considerable period and also do not break easily while lifting heavy morsels of foods. There are no chemicals, preservatives or any additives added, yet they have a long shelf life of over a year.
About Us
Plastic has several advantages such as it is malleable (made into sheets), ductile (made into wires), is very durable (does not degrade over very long periods of time), has the capacity to hold about 1000 times its weight and is extremely low in price. Plastic consists of many chemical components which are toxic and carcinogenic, and can leech into food. However, this extremely low price has turned plastic into a huge global nuisance. Plastic is so low priced that it is not economically viable to think or consider recycling it. Plastic waste covers our oceans and landfill. The past 70 years of plastic waste have resulted in pollution so ubiquitous scientists say it’s a marker of a new geological epoch, the manmade Anthropogenic. Plastic cutlery is a contributor to this enormous problem Less than 6% of global plastic products are ever recycled because the cost of retrieving and reprocessing makes it economically less viable. Plastic does not degrade naturally and therefore; the disposed plastic keeps accumulating and is causing several environmental hazards. Thus, a boon has turned into a huge bane! The world is now looking for options that offer advantages similar to plastic but can degrade naturally.
